Vacation, all I ever wanted.....

Vacation.
HAD to GET AWAY!

Palm Springs. Our yearly get-away. I believe it was, like, 110 degrees. But you know, it was a dry heat....

On our way to the pool. Oh yes, a great shot of me. But it was Aria's first trip down to the pool, and she didn't know what to make of it. So cute the way she looked out the windows at the pool below. And then watching her toddle down the hallway after the others was so funny!

This photo she was like: Did you guys see this! There's a pool down there!!

Sugar & Spice?

What are little girls made of?

I know the song, but it doesn't work here in our family. Sugar & Spice do not really describe my girls all that much. They are a bit rough and tumble and dig for worms and hunt lizards and search for sand crabs at the beach...

Aislynn found a baby lizzard this morning in our backyard.

It was so tiny! She wanted to keep him but I explained that he needed to grow up a bit and couldn't do that if we kept him in a cage. So, she let him go. She said he must miss his family and that she would probably see him again one day when he "grows up".

Who said rough and tumble couldn't also have a kind heart? I guess there's a bit of Sugar & Spice, afterall.

Jackpot!

Andrew got some money from his great-aunt and uncle in a birthday card that arrived in the mail today. You'd think he'd won the Lotto, he was so excited.

Remember when $3 used to make you this happy?

....and she walks.

Aria is officially a walker now.
How can I tell?
Well, now when she's wobbling along and she loses her balance and falls, she no longer crawls the rest of the way.
Instead, she carefully stands back up and walks the rest of the way.
So in other words, she doesn't crawl anymore.
That's how I can tell.
I'm both happy and sad about this.
All you moms out there know this feeling.

My Little Three Year Old

Tuesday, June 30th
Andrew turns 3 years old!!

For his birthday he wanted to go see a movie. We took him to see UP.

My mom came with us to help celebrate.

I was so proud of my little 3 year old!

Picking out some candy.

In line for popcorn and candy.

Andrew in his movie seat!

We had some good seats -- the theatre was practically empty.

Okay...saw this poster and couldn't help myself. Nothing to do with Andrew's birthday, I know. But check it out!

So then back at home -- presents!!!

New boots!

Avery gave him a Disneyland lollipop that she bought with her own money!

Dinosaurs from Grandma!

A.J. watches Andrew open presents.

and.....the CAKE!

Happy Birthday, my sweet boy!
