A week before Halloween we took Afton and 3 of her friends to Knott's "Scarey" Farm. If you have never been before, let me tell you...it's creepy scarey. But that's the fun. I had to bring Aria with me even though it's not recommended for children under 13 years old. Well, you know, all she did was sleep the entire time since it was from 7:30pm to 2:00am and she was always in my Baby B'Jorn carrier. Anyway, all the make-up on the "monsters" were great. Afton and her friends were freaked out the entire time. Poor Tony went along with them when we split up for a few hours. He had to endure all the screeches and screams from them, and they clung to him for protection whenever a monster would run out at them.
So here I am with Tony, and those three monsters -- believe it or not -- were all women! They came up to me and started talking baby stuff. One said, "Oh...I have one right now who is 6 months old." then another asked, "She's so big...are you breastfeeding? You know, I breastfed my son up until he was 18 months old..." and then we all started talking mommy-talk like it was normal to have that kind of converstation with grotesque looking monsters. Hey, but even monsters have a heart deep down inside, right?
Okay, who is this guy......
Phil, Rich's brother, came along with us so that I would have someone to ride the rides with. I'm not kidding. My husband the brave fire fighter does not like the BIG rides like I do. So...he held the baby for me. Oh...and while he had the baby, women from all over came up to him to talk. What IS it about a man with an infant that catches all the single women's attention??!!! Phil saw all the attention Rich was getting and said, "Let me hold the baby, will ya? I'm the single guy."
Phil took this picture of me, Rich and Aria as we rode behind him on the Log Ride. We all got pretty wet. I held the blanket up in front of Aria so she wouldn't get splashed. She slept through the entire thing.
FUN FUN FUN !!! I can't wait to go back next year!! But without a baby. I had to hold her the entire night in that carrier. She's not all that heavy yet, but still. By the time 1:00am came around, my feet and my back were sore!
